  • Great for Simple Weekly Backups, But Needs Essential Management Features

Pros:• Reliable for Basic Weekly Scheduled Backups: Performs well for generating routine weekly site and database backups directly to pCloud storage.• Recent Stability Improvements: Updating to version 2.0.6 fixed critical silent database failure bugs present in older builds, making the backup creation process much more transparent. Cons & Missing Features:• No File/Folder Exclusion: You cannot exclude specific directories (like staging folders, heavy media, or cached files) from the backup.• No Backup Retention or Deletion Management: There is no way to set retention rules (e.g., keep the last 4 weeks) or delete older/excessive backups from within the WordPress dashboard. You have to manually log into pCloud to manage storage.• No Point-in-Time Versioning: Lacks granular point-in-time restore states or incremental backups, meaning every run compresses the entire site from scratch.• Size Limitations: Note that there is a hard 3.6 GB limit on backup archives, which can be an issue for larger sites. Summary:If you have a small-to-medium site and just want a simple "set-it-and-forget-it" weekly backup pushed to your pCloud account, it gets the job done. However, if you need granular control over what gets backed up, automated storage cleanup, or point-in-time restoration, the plugin still feels like a work in progress compared to more mature backup solutions. Ensure you are running version 2.0.6+ to avoid silent database dump failures. Conclusion:Overall, I really appreciate pCloud offering a dedicated WordPress backup solution to complement a cloud storage platform I already know and love. While it fulfills my basic weekly backup needs, adding features like exclusion filters and backup management would easily elevate it from a decent utility to an essential tool.

  • Works Perfectly After Update!

After updating to version 2.0, the pCloud WP Backup plugin functions excellently! The backup process is seamless, and it has improved my site's reliability significantly. Highly recommend giving it another try if you've had issues before.

  • Avoid at all costs

Never experienced something like that. Luckily we got a free trial. We started to use pcloud for saving backups in combination with the WordPress plugin. Pcloud is worse than not even working at all. 8 times out of ten it is not working at all. And the ninth time it providse corrupted files which look totally normal at first. If you rely on that backup years of work will be wasted. Import has never worked at all without problems (even though some were minor problems). The retention of only some backups also doesn't work. It keeps all files untouched even though set different. Use everything else. Not pcloud!

  • It will be of great help

I need this plugin as I have a pCloud subscription and lots of storage. But unfortunately the plugin is still very rough and without basic features. If you develop it quickly, I would be very happy to use it and leave a high rating.
