  • Slows Down website by 30%

    We have upgraded from PayPal Standard (fazing out) to this new PayPal Payments plugin and the performance of online store fell off below the floor. Core Web Vitals by Google are failing. We had to stop accept PayPal payments completely to avoid Google penalties for poor page loading speeds. Once the plugin was removed - performance back to normal.

  • A plugin we have trusted since 2019 — and excellent support when needed

    We have been using WooCommerce PayPal Payments since 2019, and for many years it worked very well for our business. Following a major update in late 2025, however, we began experiencing significant payment issues. We weren't aware that the update was going to introduce changes that might affect our particular setup, although it is possible that we simply missed the information about the upcoming update. In early 2026, we experienced an unusually high number of failed payments, which was obviously extremely concerning for an online business where reliable payment processing is essential. What made a major difference throughout this period was the quality of the support from Jamie and Krystian at Syde. They have consistently been excellent. Their responses are measured, professional and technically focused, and they have always been willing to investigate the underlying cause rather than simply suggesting generic troubleshooting steps. Even when the problems were difficult to reproduce, they continued to work through the evidence and investigate our particular WooCommerce environment. We did eventually decide to migrate to a third-party PayPal plugin because of the problems we had experienced. In hindsight, that was a huge mistake for us. The migration introduced its own payment problems and ultimately became a disaster for our business, including failed customer payments and lost sales. We have now migrated back to WooCommerce PayPal Payments, and we are very relieved that we did. The latest investigation was particularly reassuring. Syde tested our actual staging environment with the latest version of the plugin and identified a specific issue affecting card processing that was related to the way our postcode/ZIP code was being passed to PayPal's Level 3 processing. They explained the cause clearly, provided an immediate workaround, and confirmed that the plugin's payment flows were then working correctly.   • Critical mobile credit card failure - lost customers and switched plugins

    This plugin is deeply unstable and possesses too many bugs for live e-commerce environments. Specifically, the integration completely fails to process mobile credit card transactions, resulting in a broken checkout flow that cost my business actual customers.The level of frustration caused by these persistent technical flaws is unacceptable for a payment gateway. I am absolutely not looking for support or troubleshooting assistance, as the software is simply not reliable enough for production.I have completely abandoned this plugin and switched to an alternative PayPal integration, which is currently working perfectly. Merchants looking for a reliable mobile credit card checkout experience should look elsewhere.

    I had issues with the plugin but they all got resolved by the amazing support team (Krystian in particular). They really took time to test it on my website to make sure everything is working as it should. I'm confident with using the plugin and I know if I have problems in the future, they will be resolved.
